Exploring Theatre - Art in Action

CHARACTER ROCKS (Kinder Drama)
Come take a magic carpet ride with "Drama Sue"!  Join in the fun as we investigate the world of acting...  We'll set the stage, explore pantomime, dress up and pretend, learn to tame stage fright, and discover the world of improvisation!

This program introduces students to the performing arts through activities designed to increase basic concentration and listening skills; improve reading, oral language, and comprehension capabilities; build self-esteem, confidence, and explore the imagination. Our young actors learn to express and control emotions, as well as take risks in a safe, nurturing environment.  The workshop will culminate with a showcase for family and friends.  All your child needs is an imagination and the desire to create!

ON CAMERA
In this workshop your child will learn to improvise, work with other actors, work on camera, understand terminology and prepare for an audition.  Actors will improv situations, work with dialogue and one-liners.  Using theater games, students will enhance their performance skills and bring spontaneity to their stage work.  Students
will also learn to take direction while being at ease, and we will video tape the children so they can see themselves ON CAMERA!
